Bruce PrattMy name is Bruce Pratt. While many know me in life now as “Pastor Bruce”, I didn’t start out to be a pastor. Right out of college I worked retail for a while and then was coaxed into the computer industry by my dad. There were a couple of detours along the way, but eventually I settled into what I thought would be my life’s journey as a project manager and consultant. Then the Lord came calling and I left all that to pursue the call to the ministry. I ended up pastoring my home church in Richmond, Virginia  while I finished my seminary degree at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Since then my wife and I have moved to the Big Island of Hawaii where I am the pastor/director of Kona Coast Fellowship. I’m on the board of the Kona Ministers’ Fellowship and “make tents” in the real estate industry.

The Word on the Word began as a project to help young people develop a passion for daily Bible reading. I encouraged our students and their parents to read a chapter of the New Testament, watch the short “devotary” for that chapter, and then discuss it together. The families who took me up on this challenge found that it not only drew them into the Word, it also drew them closer to each other. Imagine that!

The other areas of this website are a collection of sermons and Bible studies from my years in pastoral ministry. I’ve been greatly blessed to study and present these, and I hope that you will be blessed as you engage with them. I don’t own any of this in the conventional way we view ownership in the world today. All of these materials belong to the Lord. Feel free to use them however you want to assist, edify, and stir yourself and others.

God bless you as you go!
